    Irwin H. English Company, a leader in the commercial construction industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids, proposals, and detailed scopes of work for various commercial projects.     Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify scope of work, take-offs, and bid requirements.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive proposals, including detailed take-offs, scopes of work, for projects in the bidding phase.
    • Conduct material pricing and preparation to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
    • Review and negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring terms align with project needs and company standards.
    • Manage change orders, expense approvals, and other project-related responsibilities.
    • Work closely with project managers and field teams to ensure successful execution of awarded projects.

    The ideal candidate should possess:
    • 3-7 years of experience in Commercial Construction is required.
    • Highly organized with an exceptional attention to detail.
    • Strong background in the commercial construction industry.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Solid math skills with an understanding of cost calculations.
    • Knowledge of building materials and their typical installation applications.
    • Ability to read blueprints and accurately identify scope of work.
    • Preferred experience with Planswift or similar estimating and takeoff software.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects during both the bidding phase and post-award.
