Job Overview:

Julius C Howe Asphalt & Sealing Co is seeking a skilled Construction Driver CDL Class A (Not OTR) to join our team. This role involves operating dump trucks and other commercial vehicles to transport materials safely and efficiently to and from job sites. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, preferably in dump truck operations, and possess a CDL Class A license with no restrictions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles to transport asphalt, gravel, and other materials to and from job sites.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Safely load and unload materials while maintaining proper weight distribution.
  • Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and delivery records.
  • Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of trucks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and crew members to coordinate deliveries.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules to meet project deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
  • This is not OTR required- local only

Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL Class A license (No Restrictions) - REQUIRED.
  • Preferred: 5 years of dump truck driving experience.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic truck maintenance and safety checks.
  • Excellent driving record with a commitment to safe and responsible driving.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to work in fast-paced outdoor environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in all weather conditions.
