    At D. Grimm, Inc., Heavy Haul truck drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of heavy equipment and materials to and from the jobsite. The role demands both a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment while performing tasks crucial to the success of each project.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Load and deliver heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and graders to projects in a timely manner while adhering to all safety standards.
    • Operate water trucks or other equipment on a jobsite as needed.
    • Perform daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
    • Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on machinery to prevent breakdowns.
    • Ensure that all equipment is cleaned and maintained to preserve performance and longevity.
    • Follow safety protocols and regulations at all times, including the use of spotters when necessary.
    • Work closely with supervisors and project managers to ensure project deadlines are met.
    • Report larger repair needs or safety concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
    • Perform occasional labor tasks as needed to support project completion.
    • Document maintenance checks and equipment performance records regularly.

    The ideal candidate should possess:
    • CDL A with 5 years driving experience required.
    • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance and minor repair procedures.
    • Keen attention to detail and the ability to work safely in various work environments.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
    • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, tools, and materials.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Lifting: 0 to 100 pounds
    • Pulling, pushing, and carrying
    • Reaching or working above shoulder height
    • Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and repeated bending
    • Climbing and operating a motor vehicle
    • Finger manipulation (typing)

    Schedule:
    • Full Time
    • Travel Required: 100% travel required. The company develops rotation plans so crews can go home approximately once a month.
