    Job Overview

    Ground Level Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Superintendent - Federal Construction to oversee field operations for our commercial and government projects. As a Superintendent - Federal Construction, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to deliver high-quality results. Your role includes managing field personnel, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.     Key Responsibilities
    • Enforce compliance with IIPP, site-specific safety plans, and environmental and quality programs.
    • Conduct daily safety meetings (PTHA/JHA/AHA) and maintain accurate documentation.
    • Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports and progress photos.
    • Manage project schedules, labor forecasting, and material/equipment coordination.
    • Oversee site logistics, including permits, inspections, and lay-down areas.
    • Verify accuracy of layout, measurements, elevations, and grades.
    • Lead pre-task meetings with trade partners for safety, scheduling, and coordination.
    • Actively monitor subcontractor performance and resolve quality and scheduling challenges.
    • Anticipate and mitigate project risks, conflicts, and constructability issues.
    • Maintain professionalism and ethics in all interactions with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
    • Provide mentorship and training to Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Foremen.

    Qualifications
    • Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial or government construction.
    • Strong understanding of project plans, specifications, and scheduling.
    • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of construction safety programs, permits, and inspection processes.
    • Proficient in construction layout and basic surveying techniques.
    • Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
    • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

    Work Schedule
    • Full-time: Monday to Friday
    • Occasional additional/off hour work as required by the project

    Work Location.
    • Our current projects are primarily located in the East Bay/Berkeley/Concord/Livermore areas.
