    Key Responsibilities
    • Cost Estimation: Develop accurate, detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including underground utilities and storm drains.
    • Scope Review: Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the full scope of work.
    • Risk Analysis: Perform thorough risk and opportunity assessments for each estimate.
    • Client Interface: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to clarify details and make adjustments as needed.
    • Vendor Relations: Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
    • Team Collaboration: Work with project managers to align estimates with schedules and logistics.
    • Market Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends to maintain competitive estimating practices.
    • Reporting: Prepare and present estimate reports and bids to management and clients.

    Qualifications
    • Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
    • Expertise in underground utilities, piping, sewer, and storm drains.
    • Proficient in estimating software and advanced Excel skills.
    • Strong knowledge of construction procedures and material standards.
    • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
    • Certification as a Professional Estimator is a plus.
    • Experience with public works or government project bidding.
    • Familiarity with contract and specification reading.

    Work Schedule and Environment
    • Full-time position (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
    • Work includes office-based tasks with regular site visits for field meetings and vendor discussions.
    • Expect 40-50 hours per week, including driving to project sites as needed.
