Key Responsibilities
- Support the COO with all financial data management and reporting, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy across all accounting functions.
- Oversee all Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processes, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls.
- Perform journal entries, manage the general ledger, and ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Process construction payables and subcontractor invoices weekly, ensuring accurate job cost coding and compliance with lien waivers and insurance requirements.
- Generate financial reports, job cost summaries, and cash flow forecasts to support management decision-making.
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks with precision and confidentiality.
- Act as a liaison with the CPA firm for audits, tax preparation, and financial strategy.
- Manage and improve internal accounting procedures and workflows for greater efficiency.
- Provide leadership in the hiring, training, and development of future accounting team members as the company continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of bookkeeping and financial management experience, specifically within residential homebuilding or construction.
- Hands-on, working knowledge of both Hyphen Solutions BRIX and Intuit QuickBooks (Desktop or Enterprise) is required. Exposure alone will not qualify.
- Proven experience managing construction accounting processes, including job cost accounting, vendor payments, and draw schedules.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent data entry accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and team management experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with executives, vendors, and external auditors.
