Job Overview:
Copper Star Construction and Remodeling is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Project Bookkeeper to support our residential remodeling operations. This part-time, 1099 role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into project costs, tracking AP/AR, and ensuring financials are accurate and timely. Your primary focus will be to help keep our remodeling projects financially on track and profitable by maintaining precise bookkeeping records. We're especially interested in candidates with experience using JOBTREAD, but we're willing to train the right person with the right attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Track and manage project costs across multiple residential remodeling projects
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Reconcile job receipts, manage invoices, and ensure timely payment processing
• Enter and manage data using JOBTREAD (experience preferred but not required)
• Support the leadership team in preparing budget reports and identifying cost discrepancies
• Ensure financial documentation aligns with company standards and compliance needs
• Provide clear communication with vendors, subs, and project managers
• Help optimize financial systems and workflows for smoother project execution

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or construction accounting
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting and project budgeting
• Familiarity with AP/AR, invoicing, and receipt reconciliation
• Experience with JOBTREAD or similar construction management software is a big plus
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project accounts
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and cloud-based tools preferred
• Must be local to the Greater Phoenix Area and available to work in-office during training
