Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC Installer with strong expertise in refrigerant piping and start-up of HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting equipment, performing high-quality brazing, purging systems with nitrogen, evacuating refrigerant lines, and ensuring systems are properly charged and started. This role demands attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to follow engineered drawings and documentation procedures using ServiceTitan.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Refrigerant Work
  • Braze refrigerant lines to industry standards using nitrogen purging to prevent contamination
  • Perform proper evacuation of systems to 500 microns or better using digital vacuum gauges
  • Pressure test piping systems with nitrogen to confirm integrity
  • Set rooftop units, split condensing units, air handlers, and other HVAC equipment
  • Ensure all refrigerant piping, supports, and insulation meet code and manufacturer standards
  • Charge systems with correct refrigerant type and quantity
  • Perform initial equipment start-up, confirm proper operation, and communicate findings
• Mechanical & Structural Tasks
  • Install refrigerant piping, condensate lines, and control wiring according to drawings and specifications
  • Mount and support piping using appropriate hangers, supports, and vibration isolators
  • Coordinate lift plans and rigging for equipment setting
  • Install and level air handlers, line sets, and electrical connections
• Documentation & Quality Control
  • Read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and line diagrams
  • Take clear, detailed progress and completion photos and upload them to ServiceTitan
  • Complete installation checklists and job notes thoroughly and professionally
  • Ensure job site cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company standards
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors when needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation
• Proven experience in refrigerant piping, brazing, and system start-up
• EPA Universal Certification (Required)
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and installation best practices
• Ability to use digital gauges, vacuum pumps, recovery machines, and torches
• Familiarity with iPads/tablets and field software (ServiceTitan experience preferred)
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Comfort working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces
• Standing, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods

Work Schedule
