SAI Fountains is seeking a highly organized and proactive Estimator/Researcher to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role is critical to identifying exciting new project opportunities and ensuring accurate cost estimating for unique commercial water features. The Estimator/Researcher will drive the discovery and tracking of potential projects, conduct detailed market and project research, and prepare budgets and proposals that bring these artistic installations to life. Key Responsibilities:

• Research Duties:
  • Discover upcoming project opportunities through search engines, lead systems, industry publications, and media.
  • Maintain and update internal lead lists and CRM systems.
  • Identify and monitor projects where SAI Fountains is featured in the media.
  • Research and propose lead retrieval systems and tools to enhance opportunity discovery.
  • Obtain and analyze project plans, specifications, and bidder lists.
  • Compile detailed 'Snapshots' summarizing project data for internal use.
  • Track addendums and update all records to reflect current project scope.
• Estimating Duties:
  • Prepare detailed take-offs, budgets, and estimates based on project scope.
  • Write and submit comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Maintain accurate pricing and product data in estimating software.
  • Source quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and maintain correspondence logs.
  • Create and update subcontractor/supplier databases, including bid performance ratings.
  • Build and manage spreadsheets tracking ongoing bids and status updates (won, lost, on-hold).
  • Support pre-construction meetings by helping prepare turnover booklets.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in estimating, project research, or commercial construction preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience working with CRM systems and estimating tools/software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and digital file organization.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Ability to develop vendor relationships and maintain detailed records of project activities.
• Familiarity with construction terminology and subcontractor workflows is a plus.
