In this critical role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles, essential for our underground utility installation projects across rural communities. Your expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and complex troubleshooting will be vital to ensuring our equipment operates at peak performance.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy equipment and vehicles.
    • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire servicing, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
    • Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic cylinders, air brake systems, and electrical components.
    • Conduct field repairs and on-site maintenance as required.
    • Ensure shop organization, tool management, and inventory tracking for filters and fluids.
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs and service history.
    • Follow safety procedures and company guidelines at all times.
    • Operate heavy equipment for diagnostic and testing purposes.

    Qualifications & Skills:
    • Experience in a similar role is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical repairs.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
    • Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
    • Problem-solving mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Organized and detail-oriented with good time management skills.
    • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and operate in confined spaces.
    • Valid driver's license required.
