Job Overview

Instant Chimney is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. The Sales Associate will be responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, scheduling and attending customer appointments, performing inspections, providing accurate estimates, and following up with clients to close sales. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a drive to meet and exceed sales targets. This position offers hourly base pay plus commission, with the opportunity to earn bonuses and access a company car after meeting performance milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement and Sales:
    • Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally and efficiently, addressing customer inquiries and scheduling appointments.
    • Perform in-home inspections of chimneys, fireplaces, and related structures to assess condition and identify issues.
    • Educate customers on the benefits of chimney maintenance, repair services, and related products.
    • Provide detailed estimates and proposals for services, clearly explaining the scope of work and pricing.
    • Follow up on estimates and proposals, addressing customer questions and closing sales.
    • Upsell additional services and products to maximize customer value and increase revenue.
    • Maintain relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and generate referrals.
  • Scheduling and Coordination:
    • Manage and update personal schedule to ensure efficient time management and coverage of appointments.
    • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure timely service delivery and customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure all appointments are accurately recorded in the company CRM and scheduling software.
  • Administrative and Reporting:
    • Keep accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and inspection outcomes.
    • Update customer profiles and notes in the CRM to ensure a seamless handoff to the service team.
    • Prepare daily and weekly reports on sales performance and pipeline activity.
    • Track progress toward sales targets and adjust strategy as needed to meet goals.
  • Follow-Up and Customer Retention:
    • Conduct follow-up calls with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any post-service questions or concerns.
    • Proactively reach out to existing clients to offer maintenance plans, upgrades, and seasonal promotions.
    • Contact past customers to revive dormant accounts and encourage repeat business.
  • Training and Development:
    • Attend regular sales training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and new products or services.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to sales strategy discussions.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets.
    • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly sales competitions to win bonuses and incentives.
    • Maintain the company vehicle (once provided) in good condition and ensure it is stocked with necessary materials for inspections and sales presentations.
    • Represent Instant Chimney professionally during customer interactions and community events.
    • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customer needs.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the home services or construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Highly organized with strong time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using CRM software.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
