About the Role

Scherer Construction is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead our on-site construction operations. In this role, you will oversee all daily field activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to Scherer's high-quality standards. You will be the go-to person for scheduling, problem-solving, and ensuring safety compliance on-site.

This is an urgent hire, and we're looking for someone who can step in and make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise all on-site activities
  • Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and quality standards
  • Identify and resolve construction site challenges
  • Provide clear daily instructions to subcontractors and temporary help.
  • Ensure all safety standards (OSHA, Scherer Construction) are enforced
  • Maintain as-built construction documents and site organization
  • Oversee site and building layout, including benchmarks and dimensional controls
  • Coordinate inspections with local authorities
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and officials
  • Generate and communicate Requests for Information (RFIs) to the project manager
  • Organize on-site meetings, deliveries, and material storage
  • Review and approve shop drawings
  • Monitor subcontractor productivity and construction quality
  • Ensure on-site equipment is maintained and secure
  • Manage punch lists and prepare sites for owner occupancy and move-in

What You Bring to the Table
  • 5+ years in the construction industry in a Superintendent role
  • Ability to motivate and coordinate subcontractors for maximum efficiency
  • Strong understanding of construction principles, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to field challenges
  • Strong oral and written skills for clear project coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
