Job Overview:

Edward and Jones Concrete Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee daily field operations on residential, commercial, industrial, and government construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing crews, enforcing safety protocols, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead construction crews on job sites, ensuring efficient and high-quality work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and job scopes to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Organize daily work schedules, delegate tasks, and coordinate equipment and material deliveries.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Troubleshoot on-site challenges and implement proactive solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
  • Train and mentor crew members, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and project documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a superintendent or supervisory role.
    • Strong understanding of concrete work, framing, site preparation, grading, and general construction methods.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and job specifications.
    • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple job sites, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and proper site procedures.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate with teams, subcontractors, and project managers.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working on residential, commercial, industrial, or government projects.
    • Certifications in OSHA, Fall Protection, Forklift, or Heavy Equipment Operation.
    • Proficiency in using construction management software and digital reporting tools.
